Learnings from 2022 College Admissions

Peek Into the Journeys of Some of the Most Successful Applicants in the Toughest Year Ever

2022 was the most selective admissions season to date, setting record-breaking low acceptance rates. Harvard, Yale, Brown, Columbia all had 50,000 to over 60,000 applicants with acceptance rates at 3-4% beating all previous lows. NYU received 105,000 applications this year, of which only 12.2% students received offers. Meanwhile, Rice hit a record-low acceptance rate of 8.5% for its admissions cycle. Northwestern and Northeastern both hit record lows of 7%. How can students stand out when colleges receive so many applications?

In this Webinar, David Browne, Principal at En*trance Admissions Advisory, will share behind-the-scenes admissions journeys of his students who will be attending some of the most competitive colleges in the country this fall, including Harvard, Brown, Northwestern, Cornell, Deep Spring, etc.

Their journeys will explore:

  1. For a need-sensitive family, clarifying “fit” to gain admission to a unique free two-year college experience that typically culminates in a top Ivy transfer
  2. Distinguishing candidacies by highlighting their unique causes/concerns, cultures, or personal challenges that define their unique future contributions to their colleges
  3. Using the supplemental personal “anything else” essay to your advantage
  4. When to develop a content portfolio or video supplement as part of an applicant’s story
