About our Advisor Panelists:

Kate Sonnenberg, founder of KS College Success, is a graduate of Princeton University and the Columbia University School of Law. She takes great pride in helping her two (very different) children through the college admissions process - a graduate of Amherst College (swimmer and student activist) and a student at Wesleyan (American Studies and Theater major). She has experience working as an application reader in the Princeton University Admissions Office, where she read thousands of undergraduate applications and interviewed hundreds of students as an Alumni interviewer. Kate has seen the college admissions process from numerous vantage points and brings this experience to her current role as a college admissions consultant.

Jojo Herzig, is parent to two college students at University of Michigan and Pomona College, and has navigated a range of admissions processes including college, private schools and boarding schools with families that she works with as well as her own children. She is currently a volunteer college advisor at St. Ignatius School in the Bronx helping students through the maze of college application and financial aid process. Jojo brings her wealth of experience to help students identify what is most important to them, and approach the college process with an open mind, a great plan, and an organized timeline.

Valerie Erde, founder of VeridianPrep, is one of only two ACT/SAT/AP tutors trained by Erica Meltzer, author of the highly acclaimed Critical Reader ACT & SAT books. Prior to founding VeridianPrep, Valerie had a long career in publishing, including Managing Editor for AP test prep products for Brainscape, Inc. Through her experiences as an NYU alumni interviewer and as a parent who shepherded her own kids (both Yale) and friends through the college process, Valerie found that she had a knack for helping teens unearth and tell compelling stories, and added Common App. and college essay advising to VeridianPrep’s services.
